Ride to Unite – A Gateway Cup Charity Ride

Promotes Cycling for ALL Ages and Abilities

The Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis is pleased to announce the 2022 Ride to Unite, which takes place on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 9:15 AM at Francis Park  This exciting event is part of the Gateway Cup professional and amateur cycling Races and is open to cyclists with and without disabilities.

 Ride to Unite kicks off the Gateway Cup Saturday events at Francis Park by uniting adults and children of all abilities  with some of the most prestigious racers in the world for a FREE 5-mile ride to promote the message that cycling can be enjoyed by everyone. Maria Larkin, Irish National Cyclocross Champion, is the 2022 Ride to Unite spokesperson and will deliver opening comments, then ride with participants, along with other racers. Gateway Cup is a four-day professional and amateur cycling event which attracts elite cyclists from around the world to compete in four days of criterium style racing.

Sue Fleming, Executive Director of Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis said, “this family event includes something for everyone and you’ll see every type of cycle imaginable! It’s gratifying to see elite cyclists riding side-by-side with participants to support our mission of creating an inclusive cycling community.”  Ride to Unite is a safe family ride around Francis Park on the closed race course. Immediately following, participants can meet the pros, enjoy refreshments, and watch the Gateway Cup races starting at 10:20AM.
