Creating Cycling Opportunities for People With Disabilities
Ride to Unite’s (RTU) goal is to be the leading cycling resource for individuals with disabilities in the St. Louis Metro area. By providing cycle access, education, and opportunities to ride safely while removing barriers, we work to advance an inclusive cycling community in St. Louis. RTU is lead by volunteers who:
- Help individuals acquire adaptive cycles and ensure expert customized fitting;
- Educate cyclists (and their families) on how to use and maintain the adaptive cycle;
- Assist with storage and transporting the often cumbersome cycles; and
- Facilitate opportunities for safe cycling through group rides throughout the year.
Collaborating to Maximize Strengths: Our partnerships with 15+ non-profit agencies such as Variety, Special Olympics Missouri, and Children’s Hospital, as well as businesses and individuals makes RTU a unique program that leverages existing services and our shared commitment to efficiently maximize impact.
